Were you really wanting to what Jack Whitehall travel across the world, meeting celebrities, and completing winter themed activities in a style that is half reality show half skits? No, me neither. But we got on Amazon’s dime with Jack in Time for Christmas (2024). He probably had fun, I guess.
I really don’t know what else to say about this. I described it perfectly with those few words at the top. You are either going to enjoy it, hate it, or be like me and find it tedious but mostly passable. The skits can be a little annoying and not particularly funny, but the more reality moments are decent for what they are. And where the film is at its best is when those lines kind of blur, which is usually when Jack Whitehall is explaining his journey to his taxi driver, played by Daisy May Cooper. These are all done as scripted, but there are a couple of times where one makes the other crack during a take and the film decides to leave it in as the final take. It’s a little charming and in a film that blurs the lines in its style I think it works. But otherwise, it is just a long episode of TV with Jack Whitehall travelling around. If you like the sound of that give it a whirl, if not don’t bother.
